My ears are ringing. My heart is pumping hard, my voice has given it all, and my body has gotten a proper workout. You see, I’ve just treated myself to a concert with Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox, touring Europe at the moment. (Just get a ticket to wherever they will perform closest to where you live: http://postmodernjukebox.com/events/)
It’s such a treat to bear witness to these gifted musicians. And local jazz virtuoso Gunhild Carling made a guest appearance no less – which is fun, since I saw Scott posting a shout out to connecting with her a few weeks ago, after someone had shown him a video clip of her on stage. Such a connected world!
The likes and comments from band members on my Instagram feed tonight, even during the concert itself, is an even greater testament to the connectivity of the networking society. (@maiyasykes, @shobean @sourtaps @vonsmithofficial and of course @pmjofficial amongst others.)
So what about this then:
My ears are ringing. My heart is pumping hard, my voice has given it all, and my body has gotten a proper workout.
Well. The music wasn’t that loud, luckily, but still, being in such an environment for a couple of hours and then retreating home to silence, makes my ears buzz a bit. And, since this is the best music ever, I cannot keep quiet. I cannot keep still. So there I am, singing my heart out and dancing away, losing myself in the experience, in the music, the rhythm and tunes. Going all in, for more than two hours, along with this smashing crew of brilliance – and loving every minute of it! Now, if that isn’t being gentle to myself, I don’t know what is!
